Description We are looking for an experienced D365 Business Central Systems Analyst to support and enhance a production ERP environment in Ames, Iowa. This Long-term Contract position will act as the key technical and functional resource for resolving system issues, strengthening platform performance, and assisting business users across inventory, warehousing, order processing, and finance. The role also focuses on improving connected applications, documenting system design, and translating operational needs into practical Business Central solutions.
Responsibilities:
-Serve as the primary point of support for the Business Central platform, addressing day-to-day issues and maintaining reliable system performance.
-Investigate transaction errors, posting discrepancies, and interface failures to identify root causes and implement lasting fixes.
-Configure and refine Business Central settings, user permissions, security roles, and workflow rules to align with operational needs.
-Partner with teams involved in warehouse activity, inventory control, order fulfillment, and finance to improve process efficiency within the system.
-Support and troubleshoot integrations between Business Central and external platforms, including eCommerce tools such as Shopify.
-Create and maintain clear documentation covering system architecture, business processes, configurations, and support procedures.
-Gather business requirements from stakeholders and translate them into functional recommendations and system updates.
-Provide practical end-user assistance and explain technical concepts in a clear manner to non-technical teams. Requirements -5+ years of experience supporting, administering, or analyzing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environments.
-Hands-on experience resolving issues related to warehousing, inventory management, supply chain activity, and order fulfillment within Business Central.
-Knowledge of eCommerce platform integrations, with preference for experience supporting Shopify connections.
-Strong understanding of Business Central configuration options, security structure, role permissions, workflows, and underlying data organization.
-Proven ability to perform root cause analysis on transaction processing, posting errors, and system integration problems.
-Experience working with warehouse management, inventory operations, and fulfillment processes in an ERP-driven environment.
-Strong skills in process mapping, requirements gathering, business documentation, and configuration management.
-Ability to communicate effectively with both technical stakeholders and business users while delivering responsive user support. Technology Doesn’t Change the World, People Do.®
