Organization:
Bailing Out Benji is looking for data entry volunteers to work alongside our research team in our Ames office. We are looking for people who can commit 5-20 hours/wk, between 9 am – 4 pm, Tues-Thurs, on-site in our office.
Duties include sorting and organizing records and extracting data to enter into our database. Our biggest need is from now until mid-May 2026, but the need is ongoing! No prior experience in research or animal welfare needed, just good attention to detail, basic computer skills and the ability to do repetitive work.
Bailing Out Benji is a grass-roots 501(c)3 organization based in Ames, using research, education, and advocacy to combat the puppy mill industry. Our data is used by advocates, the public, and legislators to reform the breeding industry and to identify bad actors. Our data is unique in that no one tracks the breeding and pet-selling industry as deeply as we do. This in-depth research allows us to identify the actual problems that exist in the industry with the aim of supporting effective policy that targets inhumane breeding and helps create an informed public that knows how to find a reputable breeder, rescue, or shelter when getting their next pet.
