**Job Title: Maintenance Technician** **Job Description**

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in preparing and implementing the General Utilities preventative maintenance schedule. You will perform both preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide range of equipment, including boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, and air compressors. Your duties will also involve monitoring the functioning of general utilities, ordering and replacing parts as needed, and communicating any operational changes to managers and other personnel. You will maintain HVAC systems, assist in the maintenance of fire prevention systems, document maintenance activities in systems like CMMS, and support new hire training and cross-training efforts.

**Responsibilities**

+ Assist in the preparation and implementation of the General Utilities preventative maintenance schedule.

+ Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment such as boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, and air compressors.

+ Monitor the functioning of general utilities and order and replace parts as needed.

+ Communicate operational changes to managers and other personnel.

+ Maintain HVAC systems and assist in the maintenance of fire prevention systems.

+ Document maintenance activities in systems like CMMS.

+ Support new hire training and cross-training efforts.

**Essential Skills**

+ 5+ years of experience in maintenance, particularly industrial maintenance.

+ Proficiency in mechanical and preventive maintenance.

+ Experience with PLC, 3 phase, and 480 volt systems.

+ Boiler experience and electrical knowledge.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Boiler Certification is a plus.

+ Refrigeration Certification is a plus.

**Work Environment**

The facility operates around the clock, and the team is responsible for all preventative maintenance and shutdown work. Maintenance technicians are present on each shift, with a shift pattern of 2 on 2 off, 3 on, working every other weekend from 6 PM to 6 AM. Training occurs on the day shift for a few months initially. The dress code allows jeans, but no sweatpants or t-shirts, and steel-toed boots are necessary. The facility maintains an average temperature of 85+ degrees with 85% humidity in most areas. Due to GMP regulations, no jewelry is permitted within the facility.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of AMES, IA.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $30.00 – $35.00/hr.
