**Maintenance Technician – Job Description**

**Overview**

We are seeking a reliable **Maintenance Technician** to join our manufacturing team. This role involves performing equipment setup, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on the machines and equipment used by the manufacturing team. Candidates should be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment supporting production needs.

**Responsibilities**

+ Perform **mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting** on production machinery and support equipment.

+ Conduct **preventative maintenance (PM)** activities according to schedules and maintenance guidelines.

+ Complete **machine setup, changeovers, and calibrations** to support weekend production operations.

+ Inspect equipment for defects, wear, or potential failures and document findings.

+ Repair or replace parts such as belts, bearings, sensors, motors, pneumatic lines, and other components.

+ Respond to equipment breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.

+ Read and interpret **maintenance work orders, schematics, and equipment manuals** .

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area in accordance with company standards.

**Must-Have Skills**

+ Mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance experience

+ Knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment

+ Strong mechanical aptitude

+ Comfort using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

**Skill Details**

+ Ability to safely and efficiently **repair and maintain production machinery**

+ Experience with **mechanical systems, pneumatics, and basic electrical components**

+ Ability to perform equipment setups, adjustments, and part replacements

+ Basic understanding of **LOTO (Lockout/Tagout)** and machine safety procedures

**Nice-to-Have Skills**

+ Prior industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience

+ Basic PLC troubleshooting (no programming required)

+ Fabrication, welding, or machining experience

**Education & Qualifications**

+ Minimum **1 year of maintenance, mechanical, or industrial repair experience**

+ Manual dexterity and strong problem-solving skills

+ Basic reading, writing, and math skills

+ Ability to remain reliable, punctual, and self-directed during weekend shifts

**Work Environment**

+ Clean manufacturing environment

+ Work may involve kneeling, bending, lifting, and working in tight spaces

+ Dress code: jeans or durable work pants (no leggings or sweatpants)

+ Required PPE: safety glasses, nitrile gloves, cut-resistant gloves

+ Candidates must supply their own **steel-toe boots**

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nevada, IA.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $20.00/hr.
