Job Description:
The Department of Residence is hiring for a Facilities Mechanic III position to support the maintenance and operation of our residence halls.
The Facilities Mechanic III will perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance and repair work to keep residence hall systems operating safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, and mechanical systems. This position also repairs appliances, performs preventive maintenance, completes daily work orders, responds to maintenance emergencies, and participates in an on-call rotation. Successful candidates will use troubleshooting skills to identify problems, complete repairs, maintain accurate records, and help provide a safe, comfortable living environment for students.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience maintaining commercial or institutional building systems, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
+ Experience troubleshooting steam, hot water, chilled water, or hydronic systems.
+ Experience performing preventive maintenance.
+ Using computerized work order systems, maintenance management systems, or Excel.
+ Knowledge of safe work practices, including OSHA standards and lockout/tagout procedures.
