The Patrol Deputy Sheriff, under supervision, performs law enforcement, civil process service, and crime prevention duties for the patrol section.  Reports to the Field Services Commander and receives lead-work supervision from a sergeant.

Application Requirements: 

1. Work Experience- List work experience for the past 10 years on the online application.
2. References- 6 References are required (3 professional and 3 personal must be listed on the online application.)
3. Required Sheriff Application Addendum (must be saved and attached to online application in order for application to be complete).
4. A competitive written examination will be administered on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 8:30 am followed by a physical agility test at 10:30 am.  Location TBD.  Standards of testing may be found Physical Testing Standards – ILEA.
5. All applicants will be invited to test.  Wear appropriate clothing to participate in the physical agility test.
