Overview Mobile Crisis On-Call Counselor (PRN as needed/on-call)
Location: Community-Based (within 1-hour physical response to assigned region) Department: Crisis Services Affiliate: UnityPoint Health – Eyerly Ball
UnityPoint Health is seeking compassionate and resilient individuals to join our Mobile Crisis Response Team. As a Mobile Crisis On-Call Counselor, you will provide on-site support and consultation to clients experiencing mental health crises in community or home settings. This role is vital in helping individuals achieve stability during critical moments.
Current openings & locations:
(1) Ames, IA – Weekends, flexible hours based on applicant’s availability
(1) Des Moines, IA – Weekends, flexible hours based on applicants availability
(1) Mason City, IA – Day shift (8 hours)
(3) Algona/Garner/Britt Iowa- All shifts available, flexible based on applicant’s availablity
Shifts: The shifts range from 7a-3p, 3p-11p and 11p-7a daily. On call pay is $3.25 to be available.

Responsibilities
+ Crisis Response (30%): Deliver immediate intervention and support to clients in crisis at the location where the crisis is occurring
+ Documentation (30%): Complete all required data entry and documentation in accordance with agency policy .
+ On-Call Availability (30%): Be reachable by phone and ready to respond within a 1-hour radius, coordinating with your on-call partner
+ Compliance & Standards (10%): Uphold UnityPoint Health values, maintain required certifications, and adhere to HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines
Qualifications Education:
Must meet one of the following:
+ Mental health professional as defined in Iowa Code section 228.1
+ Bachelor’s degree; or
+ Associate’s degree; or
+ High school diploma
Experience (based on education level noted above):
+ Mental health professional: 1 year of mental health experience
+ Bachelor’s in human services: 1 year
+ Bachelor’s in non-human services: 2 years
+ Associate’s degree: 2 years
+ High school diploma: 2 years
Licenses/Certifications:
+ Valid driver’s license and compliance with Eyerly Ball’s auto insurance policy
+ Must pass criminal records and dependent adult/child abuse checks
