Martha's House of Hope

Resident Transportation

Organization:

Martha’s House of Hope

Description:

At Martha’s House of Hope, most residents do not have a personal mode of transportation. MHOH directs them to public transportation services, however, sometimes they need assistance going to appointments for unprecedented amounts of time, running errands, or going to church, community classes, school, or work.

This is where volunteers come in! Helping with transportation involves picking the resident up from MHOH and delivering them to the needed location or picking them up from another location and delivering them back to the house. If you are transporting with a child, the parent is always required to be in the vehicle with the child and ensure the car seat and child are appropriately installed or buckled. These trips consist of a mixture of one-way and two-way transportation help.

Requirements:
Volunteers must be 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license and proper insurance on their vehicle. These documents also must be on file at the house prior to the volunteer transporting an individual.
