Assistant Teacher
Stepping Stones Childcare is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Childcare Teacher. The Assistant Childcare Teacher will support the Lead Teacher in implementing educational programs that cater to each child’s unique needs, assisting in maintaining a healthy and safe environment for children, as well as supporting administrative tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties
Assist the Lead Childcare Teacher in conducting daily learning and care routines.
Collaborate in the preparation and implementation of educational programs that meet children’s individual needs.
Ensure classrooms and play areas are clean and safe at all times.
Help in maintaining accurate records of children’s progress, routines, and interests.
Support communication between parents, teachers, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
The Assistant Childcare Educator should possess the following:
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Current CPR and First Aid certificates.
Current Mandatory Reporter of Child Abuse Certification
Essentials in Childcare training obtained within the first 90 days.
10 hours of approved training in the first year of employment (Essentials in Childcare counts)
Maintain a minimum of 6 hours of approved training each year after the first year of employment.
Skills and Competencies
Excellent communication and people skills, with an ability to engage and connect with children.
Patience, flexibility, and a cheerful outlook towards young children’s education and care.
Strong administration and organization skills.
Capability and consistency in reporting and recording practices.
Benefits
Access to CCA benefits for their own child/ren. An additional $75/week will be paid on top of this benefit. If the CCA program becomes unavailable to staff your childcare fee will be $100 per week per child enrolled.
50 hours of PTO will be available after the 90-day probationary period.
Yearly bonus based off performance.
