Job Description
The core function of the Location and Environment Bureau (LEB) is to balance transportation project delivery, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship for Iowa’s transportation interests. Part of this core function includes following the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process. This position will serve an important role as a member of the NEPA Team by assisting us meet the requirements of federal environmental regulations.
Job Description:
Assist LEB staff with day-to-day functions including but not limited to environmental policy, planning and transportation related activities such as basic report preparation, process documentation, project data entry, database management, and related organizational work.
Educational Requirements:Undergraduate or graduate students in an environmental, planning or transportation academic program or with an interest in environmental process and policy.
Preferred background:Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and data management systems. Prefer a student who can start this fall and work part time through the semester. Prefer student who is at least a sophomore.
Duration Options: Position available starting summer (up to 40 hours/week). Depending on Bureau workload and resources, this position may extend beyond summer and into the fall semester.
